A Colorado mother shared an extremely emotional post expressing her gratitude for two of her close friends who drove for 30 miles to spontaneously visit during her time of need has gone viral, justifying an old saying, a friend in need is a friend indeed.
Friends to the rescue
In the Black and white image shared in the Northern Colorado Moms Blog, two women can be seen, one working in the kitchen and another glued to her cellphone. The post added more context to the idea of people who are life-long friends, those who will simply be there for each other, regardless of what happens, especially when life gets rocky. The writer shared the post with the Facebook group’s 10,000-plus followers.
The writer shared that when she told her friend that she didn’t want to be alone, her friend immediately responded that she’s on her way. The writer also listed the reasons why her friend shouldn’t come visit her, as her house was messy and really far, but despite all her reasons, her friend couldn't stand to see her feel lonely and decided to drop by.
The Biggest hugs
The writer detailed that her pal traveled from Greeley to Fort Collins, about a 32-mile drive, picking up another friend and lunch for the group on the way. She also informed that as soon as they met, her friends gave her the warmest hugs, cleaned her entire house and assured her that everything’s going to be alright.
She also added that her friends held her as she cried, they made her laugh and played soothing music, but most importantly, they didn’t leave her alone. On Sunday, October 20, the viral post’s author revealed her identity as Kimberly Adams, the administrator behind the Facebook group.
Adams detailed that she first connected with many of her friends through the Facebook group, and urged anyone feeling lonely to get involved with groups in their community or area.
