Promoting gender equality in the Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) fields in the US, a Delta flight from Salt Lake City to Houston recently managed entirely by an all-women crew flew 120 young NASA aspirants, according to a statement released by Delta. The statement added that the all-woman flight was piloted on the occasion of Delta's fifth-annual WING Flight - "Women Inspiring our Next Generation". The photo capturing the all-woman crew and the potential NASA scientists has also been released by the air carrier. The girls aged 12-18 were flown to Houston to diversify a male-dominated industry.

As shared by Delta, the flight was planned and orchestrated exclusively by women. This included the pilots flying the plane, ramp agents working on the ground, gate agents boarding the flight and women in the tower guiding the aircraft on its way out. Delta's WING Flight was introduced to expose girls to STEM careers. The air carrier has flown over 600 female students till date under this program. The students were then given a tour of NASA's Mission Control Center, Building 9, Johnson Space Center and Space Center Houston.

Mahindra launches India's first all-woman run automobile workshop
Similarly back home, in a major push towards encouraging women in core sectors, Indian automobile giant Mahindra on Saturday has opened India's first all women-run automobile workshop in Jaipur. This move was done as part of the company's 'Pink collars' initiative. Hailing his company's intiative Mahindra chairperson Anand Mahindra took to Twitter to express pride in women rising. He touted that that would be India's main story for the next decades.
