According to reports, US President Donald Trump has said on September 23 that he is contemplating the release of transcript of his contentious phone call
According to reports, US President Donald Trump has said on September 23 that he is contemplating the release of a transcript of his controversial July phone call with Ukraine's President but he also recognizes concerns about doing so. The case relates to former US Vice President Joe Biden's son who joined a Ukranian Gas corporation when Ukraine sought US help against Russian hostilities back in the year 2014.
'May release it'
As per reports, during a photo session with Poland's President, Andrzej Duda, he was posed a question on whether he would release the transcript of the phone call he had with Ukraine's President, which he has been facing questions for. To which, he replied that he may do it But later said he was worried about the example he may set by releasing a recorded conversation of Presidential phone call with foreign leaders.
The disputed phone call
The issue for which Trump is currently involved in is of a July 25 phone call with Ukrain President Volodymyr Zelenskiy after reports revealed that Trump had pressured Zelenskiy to investigate allegations involving son of Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden. President Zelenskiy is the target of a whistleblower complaint from an unnamed US government official. As per reports, In the year 2014, the then Vice-President Joe Biden was at the helm of American diplomacy to give Ukraine's weak Democratic government as it requested help to defend against Russian hostility and defeat corruption. However, It raised questions when Biden's son Hunter was hired by a Ukranian gas corporation. The Obama administration at that time reportedly said that there isn't any conflict because the younger Biden was a private citizen and there is no evidence of any wrongdoing by Biden Father-Son duo.
