Howdy, Modi: All you need to know about the PM's grand event

The word 'Howdy'  is a short form for 'How do you do?' which is a friendly greeting commonly used in the southwestern US, used as a greeting for PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and United States President Donald Trump are all set to jointly address a one of a kind rally, 'Howdy, Modi' in Houston on September 22. The word 'Howdy'  is a short form from  'How do you do?' which is a friendly greeting commonly used in the southwestern United States and therefore is the name of the event designed as a greeting to PM Modi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has previously addressed similar gatherings at Madison Square Garden in New York and the SAP Center in San Jose.

Howdy, Modi? - About the event

Texas India Forum (TIF), with the help of more than 1000 volunteers are organizing a community summit for PM Modi.TIF has also confirmed that over 650 community organizations have already signed up to be 'welcome partners' for the program. According to the events page, more than 50,000 attendees have registered for the event in three weeks. The event is all sold out. It is also mentioned that the live audience will be the largest gathering for an invited foreign leader visiting the country, apart from the Pope.

Stephanie Grisham, White House Secretary had said in a statement that 

"It will be a great opportunity to emphasize the strong ties between the people of the United States and India, to reaffirm the strategic partnership between the world's oldest and largest democracies, and to discuss ways to deepen their energy and trade relationship."

The event will include a cultural program and an address by PM Modi. A 90-minute cultural program titled, 'Woven: The Indian-American Story' is going to performed celebrating the contributions of Indian-Americans to the cultural,  and social landscape of the United States. 

'Howdy, Modi! Shared Dreams, Bright Futures' event will be held at the pulsating NRG Stadium in Houston.

The White House had officially confirmed the attendance of President Donald Trump. PM Modi took to Twitter to express his gratitude for Trump's gesture-
