Defending his decision to ire John Bolton as National Security Adviser, United States President Donald Trump said that he had made some very big mistakes and his actions were not in the favor of the administration.
'Cannot ignore his big mistakes': Trump
Trump added that Bolton did not make a good statement when he talked about the Libyan model for Kim Jong-un and whatever happened with Gaddafi wasn’t good and has set the US government back. He also said that although he got along with Bolton really well, he could not ignore the big mistakes that he committed.
"When he (Bolton) talked about the Libyan model for Kim Jong-un, that was not a good statement to make," Trump said. "You just take a look at what happened with Gaddafi, that was not a good statement to make and it set us back."
"John is somebody that I actually got along with very well. He made some very big mistakes," the president told reporters at the White House.
Trump asks John to resign
The US President announced on September 10 that he had asked John for his resignation as he 'disagreed strongly with many of his suggestions'. He also informed in a series of tweets that a new National Security Adviser will be announced soon.
....I asked John for his resignation, which was given to me this morning. I thank John very much for his service. I will be naming a new National Security Advisor next week.

Donald expressed his longtime disagreement with Bolton’s attitude towards Venezuela issue, he informed that Bolton got way out of lines and that he wanted to do things not necessarily tougher than him. However, he also declared that the US government is always watching Venezuela very closely. He mentioned Bolton as a tough guy, so much so that he got the government officials sent to Iraq.
Bolton was never in line with administration
Trump explained that although he always had a positive relationship with Bolton, he was facing severe issues with the administration which was his major concern. According to Trump, Bolton was never in line with the administration and committed mistakes that went against the protocols, which ultimately led him to fire Bolton.
The US President concluded by stating that whatever happened, maybe it ended on a good note with Bolton or maybe not, but his main priority is to run the country in the right way. He emphasized that the government is working really well and that the entire world is looking up to them.
