Kamala Harris issues an apology
The Democratic Presidential candidate on Saturday apologized on twitter over the incident and called it "upsetting". She tweeted, "When my staff played the video from my town hall yesterday, it was upsetting. I didn’t hear the words the man used at that moment, but if I had I would’ve stopped and corrected him. I’m sorry. That word and others like it aren’t acceptable. Ever". After the video went viral on social media, netizens reacted saying Kamala should not have allowed somebody to talk like that and demanded an apology.

What's the video about?
The video was taken at New Hampshire, town hall on September 6 where the person who identified himself as somebody from the same hometown as Kamala's mother, Chennai in India, spoke on how he spent a lot of effort to live his 'American dream' before Trump took over as the President of US. The man was seen calling Donald Trump a 'racist bigot' and that Trump does not allow coloured people to stay in the US and sends them back to their own country. This man spoke in a heavy accent on how he is scared for the US and the people living there. He can then be seen asking the 2020 Presidential candidate on how she would get rid of this "mentally retarded action of this guy". The crowd over there could be heard laughing and clapping for the question put up by this man. Kamala Harris too laughed and replied to the man saying, "well said, well said". She then answered the man saying that she would work really hard to get there and by next year Trump will be dethroned. She thanked the man for having the courage to stand up and also said that there are people in the country who are living in a lot of fear.
