Former basketball player Michael Jordan could not hold back his emotions as he inaugurated a clinic which will bear the health care expenses of uninsured patients' health care in his hometown of Charlotte. An emotional Jordan, while inaugurating the Novant Health Michael Jordan Family Medical Clinic, told the people in attendance that it was a matter of pride that he could support and provide for the community that supported him over the years.

Jordan's way of giving back to the community
Addressing the crowd gathered at the grand opening he said that he stands before them as a proud parent, son, and member of the community. He also conveyed that his extended family deserves as much credit for helping him make the clinic a reality.
Saying so he took a trip down the memory lane and fondly spoke about his mother who cared for other people. Being a part of community matters, he said.
So when Jordan came to know about Novant Health's plan to provide access to medical care for those who need it most, he realised that this was a way to help people from his community. It was a golden opportunity to give back to the community, he said.
Providing care beyond doctors' office
Following Jordan's speech, CEO of Novant Health Carl Armato said that the main aim was to provide the best care for its patients. In addition to this, Armato said that the clinic will not only cater to its patients' requirements in the clinic but will be extending services beyond the doctor's office to ensure that the patients are cared for even when they are not in the hospital.
