The United States on Thursday called out Pakistan, exposing its double standards against the Muslims in Western China. US Acting Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asia Alice Wells demanded Pakistan to express "same level" of concern about the Muslims detentions in Western China as Imran Khan's administration has been doing for Kashmir in India. In her reply to Pakistan PM Imran Khan's alleged concerns about Kashmir, she said that she would like to see Pakistan express concerns about the Uighur Muslims being detained in Western China's Xinjiang.
"...I would like to see the same level of concern expressed also about Muslims who are being detained in Western China, literally in concentration-like conditions. And so being concerned about the human rights of Muslims does extend more broadly than Kashmir, and you've seen the administration very involved here during the UN General Assembly and trying to shine a light on the horrific conditions that continue to exist for Muslims throughout China," said Alice Wells, US Acting Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asia, as reported by news agency ANI.
Imran Khan's attempts on Kashmir
Pakistan PM Imran Khan and his government have been making continuous efforts to raise fake narrative against Jammu and Kashmir in front of the international community, however, his efforts have gone in vain. While he had also asked the citizens of his country to stand in solidarity with Kashmir on various occasions, his attempts have proven to be ineffective in raising his false narrative against India. He has been snubbed by not only India, but a large section of the international community as well who have extended support to India in its decision of abrogating special status of Jammu and Kashmir.
Pakistan stays mum on China
While Imran Khan has been taking all possible steps to instigate his false propaganda against India, Pakistan has remained mum on the treatment of Muslims by the Chinese administration. On being asked to comment on the same Imran Khan has tried to brush it aside saying that there is a lot going on in its own country. International community, on the other hand, had condemned China over its crackdown on the minorities living in their countries. China is accused of oppressing the Uighur-Muslims after it allegedly made the community undergo some form of forceful re-education or indoctrination, sent people to mass detention camps, and tried to interfere in their religious activities. Meanwhile, ignoring the atrocities on Muslims in China, Imran Khan has maintained that Beijing is Islamabad's "best friend".
