Sitting alongside Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey in the White House, President Donald Trump declined to weigh-in on Arizona's mail-in voting, even as he continued to slam Nevada's efforts Wednesday.

Trump had reversed months of criticism of mail-in voting a day earlier by encouraging people to vote by mail in the critical swing state of Florida — but not those in Nevada. Trump's campaign and the national and state GOP are suing Nevada to try to stop its new mail voting law. Trump contends Florida's election system is safe and secure, but the suit in Nevada argues its new law would undermine the election's integrity and violate federal election law and the Constitution.

Florida is seen as a must-win state for Trump and is governed by a Republican while Nevada's governor is a Democrat.

Arizona Governor Ducey insisted his state has decades of experience to make mail-in voting "free and fair," adding that, "it will be difficult, if not impossible, to cheat."

Ducey was at the White House to highlight his state as a model for the nation for addressing the coronavirus.

Arizona, like much of the Sun Belt region, began experiencing a severe spike in COVID-19 cases after the Memorial Day holiday, as states' aggressive reopening plans coincided with an increase in travel.
