Trump says he's no longer on medication for virus

US President Donald Trump said he has been re-tested for the coronavirus and is "either at the bottom of the scale or free" of the virus. Speaking from the White House lawn in an interview with Fox News contributor Dr. Mark Seigel on Fox News' "Tucker Carlson Tonight," the president said he has been tested "every couple of days" and he is "at a level now that's been great."

In his first television interview since going to the hospital last weekend, Trump said that he feels "very strong" and has not been taking any medication as of earlier in the day on Friday. He said that before he went to Walter Reed Medical Center, he didn't feel strong but did not have trouble breathing. He said tests at the hospital found some lung congestion. He also said that he would be willing to donate plasma to help others with the virus.

The White House said Trump's hospitalization at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, which began Oct. 2, was precautionary and his symptoms were mild. Trump credited his recovery to an experimental antibody drug made by Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc.

Health experts say it’s not a cure, but experimental antibody drugs like those are among the most promising therapies being tested. They aim to help the immune system fight the coronavirus. However, they are still in the testing phase and their safety and effectiveness are not yet known.
