Utah is increasing coronavirus restrictions on two college towns that have seen a spike in cases.
The state is moving the cities of Provo and Orem from low restrictions to moderate. Team sports, however, will be allowed to continue, but with no spectators.
Provo is home to Brigham Young University and Orem is home to Utah Valley University. Both are in Utah County, south of Salt Lake City.
State epidemiologist Dr. Angela Dunn said that cases of COVID-19 in the state grew by 81% in the last week and accounted for 42% of cases in the state, despite having just 20% of the state's population. Many of the new cases were in young people.
