In a video that will invoke patriotism for Indians, US army band played the Indian National Anthem, 'Jana Gana Mana', during a joint exercise between the Indian and US Army in Washington. The video of the American soldiers playing the National Anthem on their trumpets was shared on social media on Thursday. It was the last day of the joint exercise on Wednesday.

US army plays the Indian Anthem, a matter of pride 

The joint exercise began on Friday in Washington as part of the ongoing defence co-operation between the two nations. It is being conducted at the Joint Base Lewis McChord, Washington.

The joint exercise is named Yudh Abhyas and is one of the largest joint-running military training and defence co-operation endeavours between India and the US. Officials reportedly claim that the armies will jointly plan, train and execute for neutralizations of threats during the exercise and it comprised of mechanised forces with force multipliers integrating high technology platforms.

Joint exercise in its 15th edition

A joint exercise will be undertaken by both countries in an operational setting under the UN. It will provide an opportunity to the armed forces of the India and US to train n an integrated manner at the Battalion level, with planning at the Brigade level. Experts from both sides will hold academic and military discussions to share each other's experiences on varied topics for mutual benefit. Multiple scenarios will be rehearsed to understand each other's organisation structure. The exercise, which is in its 15th edition, is conducted alternately in India and the US.

The exercise was reportedly witnessed by Lieutenant General Ranbir Singh, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command. After this, Lieutenant General Ranbir Singh was briefed about the conduct of the exercise by Lieutenant General YK Joshi, General Officer Commanding, Fire & Fury Corps.
