Panic-stricken callers informed fire officials of a building purportedly shaking and a potential explosion. Fortunately, there have been no reported injuries from these incidents but the explosions have caused power outages on Roosevelt Island. New York City's official emergency notification system cautioned about disruptions in traffic and public transit systems near Roosevelt Island, although specifics were not disclosed.
As per the New York City Fire Department officials, the teams are actively investigating to identify the origin of the explosions. A fire department official also informed that by 7:08 AM local time, the situation was under control, and currently, the reported cause of the explosions and tremors remains ‘unconfirmed’, as per local reports.
