US President Donald Trump has slammed fellow Republican Mitt Romney for criticising his move to push foreign countries into launching probe against Joe Biden, former vice-president and a leading Democratic candidate for the White House. Trump took to Twitter to criticise Romney and said that people of Utah, from where Romney is Senator, have realized their mistake for choosing the ‘Pompous Senator’.
I’m hearing that the Great People of Utah are considering their vote for their Pompous Senator, Mitt Romney, to be a big mistake. I agree! He is a fool who is playing right into the hands of the Do Nothing Democrats! #IMPEACHMITTROMNEY

The Democrats are lucky that they don’t have any Mitt Romney types. They may be lousy politicians, with really bad policies (Open Borders, Sanctuary Cities etc.), but they stick together!

Romney calls it politically motivated
Mitt Romney, a Republican candidate in 2012 US Presidential elections, had openly criticised Trump for pushing a probe in the middle of the nomination process. “It strains credulity to suggest that it is anything other than politically motivated,” Romney had said. By deviating from the Republican line on Trump’s call to probe Biden, Romney said, “By all appearances, the President’s brazen and unprecedented appeal to China and to Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden is wrong and appalling.”
Pompeo denies allegations
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo denied the allegations of abuse of power by the US president and using taxpayer’s money to damage the candidature of a rival candidate. Pompeo said that the impeachment enquiry was politically motivated and said that the state department was focussed to enhance its relationship with the new Ukranian government. “The State Department was very focused, at the direction of the president, on creating space where we could ultimately deliver a good relationship with this government,” Pompeo said.
Impeachment process gains momentum
Meanwhile, the House committees, who are probing charges against Trump, have been instructed not to lose momentum and move quickly with it. Trump is already facing the charges of putting pressure on Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to investigate Joe Biden and his call to China has now escalated the matter. the House Judiciary Committee, which oversees the impeachment process, will receive all the findings of House-wise investigation. Once the House Judiciary Committee finds enough evidence on Donald Trump, it will be referred to the full house for voting. The lower house, which is currently controlled by the Democrats, will vote on one more Article of impeachment. If the majority of members vote in favour of impeachment, Trump will be impeached and the proceedings will move to Senate.
