The Seashore Trolley Museum in Kennebunkport in Maine was greeted by a surprise visitor on Tuesday.

What seemed like a white throwing pillow turned out to a rare albino porcupine which seemed to find its way into the museum as per international news agencies. The lost visitor resembled a soft-toy as it turned up at the museum and left the staff astonished who were not sure what the little creature was, as per reports.

The confused folk at the Seashore Trolley Museum turned to social media which was quite helpful in gaining some knowledge about the creature's origins. The museum has a history of welcoming a turkey, a woodchuck family, a snapping turtle and a bear, as per reports.

The museum made a random guess which has different options like an albino skunk or a groundhog:

The end result was people telling them that the creature was an albino porcupine. As per reports, the animal appeared like a baby because its quills were yet to become hardened. A museum official said that the albino porcupine was nowhere to be seen and had disappeared, but was also assumed to be lurking in the area.

Even so, the albino porcupine's charm was still going strong as the museum put up yet another facebook post ask for suggestions to name the little guy. People came up with random names like Marshmellow, Snowball, Moxie, Cottonball and many more.

Twitter users too reacted to the unusual sighting:

"Is it a toupee? Is it a pillow? No, it's a albino porcupine"

"Some days you just really, really need an albino porcupine."

Porcupines are not new to Maine, but this albino porcupine definitely is. About one of every 10,000 of the species is an albino porcupine. Earlier in May, a rare all-white panda had been caught on camera at a nature reserve in southwest China.
