As per reports, rescuers have found dog - later named Miracle - alive in the rubble of a collapsed building in the Bahamas. A few weeks have passed by since category 5 Hurricane Dorian, wrecked the Bahamas, killing at least 50 people and injuring a lot more. The aftermath has seen many missions being conducted in order to rescue humans and animals alike.

A true "Miracle"

According to reports, a drone being operated by Big Dog Ranch Rescue had found a dog alive but malnourished in the debris caused due to the Hurricane. The drone found the dog using an infrared camera that tried to find a possible heat signature under all the rubble. The Florida-based rescue organization stated that the year-old mixed breed dog was stuck under the air conditioning units and stayed alive by only drinking rainwater in a hole right in front of him. They further added that the puppy was bone-thin and was not able to walk when was found in the town of Marsh Harbour in Abaco Islands, Bahamas.

Founder of Big Dog Ranch Rescue, Lauree Simmons, stated that the rescued dog, who they've now renamed Miracle was almost crushed to death after a building had collapsed on him, trapping him under broken glass. In order to gain the scared pup's trust, the rescuers sat down with him for a while and then fed him with dog food. They then picked up Miracle in their arms and carried him out of the hostile environment.

This incident was among the many cases that the rescue shelter had taken up in the aftermath of the hurricane. They have also transferred more than 100 animals to safety in the United States of America. Simmons stated that these rescued animals were generally found at places where their homes once stood and a few of them had the privilege of being united with their owners while a few other dogs were still waiting for a loving home to adopt them.

The shelter will post the necessary details of the mixed breed puppy on a missing dog's website and give a month for his owners to claim him. However, if that fails to happen, then they will put up Miracle for adoption.
