The US, Russia to hold counter-terrorism bilateral talks in the second half of 2020; the negotiations will be held at the coordinator’s level to fight terrorism

One of the top Russian officials in his statement to international media said that Russia and the United State will engage in their next bilateral talks on counter-terrorism in the second half of 2020. Vladimir Tarabin who is the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Department for New Challenges specified in his interview that the negotiations will be held at the coordinator’s level. As stated by ANI, “It has been agreed that the next coordinators-level negotiations will be held in the second half of 2020. Prior to that, intense expert-level work will be carried out.” The bureaucrats have appreciated the initiative taken by the two superpower countries to cooperate in the fight against terrorism.
Coordinator-level counter-terrorism talks
Tarabin suggested that the cooperation of the two countries is developing organically and dynamically to fight terrorism. He said, “The Russian-US terrorism fight cooperation is developing in general. We have resumed bilateral counterterrorism dialogue, and it is developing quite dynamically”. According to the reports, the coordinators-level counter-terrorism negotiations between Russia and the United States were held on September 9 in Vienna. The discussion was co-chaired by Oleg Syromolotov, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and John Sullivan, US Deputy of States. The coordinators engaged in a conversation with an objective to together fight terror threats. The participants also agreed to continue constructive Moscow and Washington talk on the concern.
Russia-US to boost safety of citizens against terrorism
Vladimir Tarabin commented on the success of the dialogue acknowledging that both sides are equally interested in the fight against terrorism, the talks have summed up the required strategises to counter-terrorism. He said that this will ensure the safety of citizens in both countries. He in his interview stated, “High-ranking diplomats and their colleagues from responsible agencies have summed up interim results of counter-terrorism expert-level contacts...and have framed plans for further cooperation. It should be said that both sides are showing interest in conducting negotiations and aim at reaching such results and that more efficient fight against global terror threats. According to the official suggested that Moscow and Washington had common concerns on several issues related to the terrorism fight. He also said that both the countries are of the faith that the foreign supporters of the terror group Islamic State should be sent back to their native countries from Syria where they fought parallel to IS.
