While the infamous Robert Mueller report that investigates Russia's interference in the presidential elections, still clouds the US politics and has even threatened the chair of the President, Donald Trump managed to jest about the contentious presidential elections of 2016 during his bilateral meet with Russia President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of G20 Summit in Japan.
The US President during a media interaction, with a smile on his face, asked the Russian President to not meddle in the US Presidential elections of 2020 and made a finger gesture.
"Don't meddle in the election, please," said the US President, drawing a smile and silence from the Russian President.
Shrugging the otherwise differences between the two countries, from Iran to Syria in the recent times, Trump surprinsingly stated that he shares a 'very, very good relationship' with Putin and added that 'many positive things are going to come out of the relationship.'
This was the first time, both the leaders help a meeting following the controversial Helsinki Summit last year in July. While the video has gone viral across the internet, the critics of the US President accused him of taking the Russian collusion in the Presidential elections lightly.
The Robert Mueller report is the official documentation of the findings and conclusions of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian efforts to interfere in the presidential elections of 2016.
At the G20 Summit, Prime Minister Modi held two trilateral meets- the first one 'JAI' with Japan President Shinzo Abe and US President Donald Trump, and second 'RIC' with Russia and China.
Formally known as "Summit on Financial Markets and the World Economy", G-20 summit began in 1999.
