While talking to an international media outlet, the wedding photographer, Karna Roa, said that the couple had been planning their wedding for the past one year and most of their guests had traveled from out of state for the ceremony.

With the concerned officials ordering mass evacuations of about 185000 people, a few of the wedding guests had to flee the accommodation in which they were staying to attend the wedding. Also, the conditions at the venue got so bad that the events of the ceremony had to be shifted inside but the wedding went on as planned as Katie and Curtis held the ceremony outside despite the hazardous conditions.

The photographer further added that as soon as the wedding couple put on the masks, she was reminded of American Gothic painting.
