Security camera video shows two US citizens who allegedly helped Nissan's former chairman, Carlos Ghosn, escape from Tokyo to Beirut, pass through passport control at Istanbul Airport, according to a private Turkish news agency.
Ihlas News Agency, or IHA, says the video it obtained from security sources is of Michael Taylor and George Zayek, who are believed to have been involved in Ghosn's escape plan.
Turkish media reports said the two accompanied Ghosn on board a private flight to Istanbul. Ghosn then switched to a different plane to Beirut, while Taylor and Zayek flew to the United States on board a commercial flight.
The images are from early morning on December 30, 2019, at Istanbul Airport.
The Associated Press has not been able to independently verify the authenticity of the footage.
Ghosn skipped bail and fled to Lebanon earlier this month, saying he could not get a fair trial in Japan.
