Why has Stephen Hawking been named in Jeffrey Epstein documents? Explained
Stephen Hawking visited the infamous Epstein island in 2006 for a science conference which was funded by Jeffrey Epstein.
The greatest scientist of our generation Stephen Hawking's name has cropped up in the documents linked to convicted sex offender, the late Jeffrey Epstein. Known for his ground breaking discovery on black holes, Hawking was famous for his atheistic belief which angered many creationists and the latest revelation about the immortal scientist has given another chance to his haters to put dirt on his name. According to a declassified email sent by Epstein to his then associate Ghislaine Maxwell, the former asked to reward anyone who could disprove Virginia Giuffre's allegations about Hawking.
Virginia Giuffre is the one who sued Maxwell accusing her of conspiring with Epstein for the sexual abuse of minors. Giuffre claimed that she was forced to have sex with multiple people by the Maxwell-Epstein duo when she was 17.
As for Hawking, Giuffre alleged that the scientist participated in an "underage orgy" at Epstein's private island at the Virgin Islands.
"You can issue a reward to any of Virginia's friends acquaints family that come forward and help prove her allegations are false. The strongest is the Clinton dinner, and the new version in the Virgin Islands that Steven Hawking participated in an underage orgy," Epstein reportedly wrote in the email.
Hawking indeed visited the infamous island in 2006 for a science conference which was funded by Epstein months before he was accused of sex trafficking. Hawking's picture from a "barbeque" during his visit sitting next to Epstein's associates along with physicist Kip Thorne (who was also the advisor for the movie Interstellar) has again started doing rounds on social media.
Apart from the said barbeque, reports say Hawking was also offered a ride in Epstein's customised submarine on his trip. Notably, Hawking has not been accused of any sexual misconduct and Giuffre's allegations on the physicist have not been proven. Born on January 8, 1942, Hawking was diagnosed with the Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a kind of motor neuron disease, at 21 years of age and this left him confined to a wheelchair till his death on March 14, 2018.
The names are being revealed as hundreds of documents are being made public. Apart from Hawking, names of former US President Bill Clinton, actor Leonardo DiCaprio, and Prince Andrew have also come up.
