Bombel- World's shortest horse
Bombel's owner Katarzyna Zielinska has shared details about her short buddy. Talking to Guinness she says, "His name is Bombel - which means Bubble in Polish. His size is 56.7 cm measured from the hooves till his back. Bombel is small horse with a huge personality and a huge heart. Bombel's daily routine is like a normal horse. He gets his hay, water and then we take him to paddock to meet the other horses. He runs around the field."

Bombel's life and family
According to Guinness, Bombel is the smallest equine resident of KasKada stud farm in Łódź as compared to the larger horses living there. Guinness has followed the protocols of the American Miniature Horse Association which classifies a mini horse is anything below 9.5 hands (38 in; 96.5 cm) at the withers. This means Bombel falls into the category quite comfortably. Bombel is the smallest horse in the world and is one-of-a-kind.
His owners Patryk and Katarzyna Zielińska first saw Bombel in 2014, when he was just two months old, shared Guinness. Bobel was reportedly tiny inspite of having normal-sized parents. Talking about Bombel's unique stature, Katarzyna explained, "We thought something is going on with him. When he started growing up, we saw he wasn't growing as he was supposed to be. That was when we decided we should [approach] Guinness World Records."
Bombel the volunteer
She further says that inspite of being a pint-sized celebrity, Bombel does give back to the community. Once a month, he visits a local children's hospital to help brighten the day of the young patients, as shared by Zielińska. Bombel aids the patients as an emotional support animal says Zielińska adding, "Bombel has changed our lives completely. He allows us to help other people and make kids happy."
Previous record holder -Thumbelina
Meanwhile, Guinness shared that the shortest horse ever is Thumbelina, who sadly passed away in 2018. Thumbelina was a miniature sorrel brown mare from St Louis, Missouri, USA. She measured 44.5 cm (1 ft 5 in) tall. Guinness is currently on the look-out for a new shortest female horse.
