After remaining silent for some time, Rupali responded by filing a defamation case against Esha on November 11. Now, the Anupamaa actress has shared a cryptic post about "silencing the noise of humans."

On November 12, Rupali Ganguly shared a cryptic quote on her Instagram stories, saying, "There are times when you need the silence of animals to recover from the noise of humans.” This post follows her recent defamation notice to her stepdaughter, seeking compensation for alleged defamation of her character and personal life.

Anupamaa actress’ lawyer, Sana Raees Khan, who also appeared on Bigg Boss 17, sent the notice on her behalf. The notice accuses Esha of making "false and damaging statements" and aims to protect Ganguly’s reputation.

In the notice, Ganguly expressed shock at Esha’s posts and comments on social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and Facebook. She claims to have endured mental trauma, required medical assistance, and faced humiliation on set, along with lost professional opportunities.

According to the notice, Ganguly initially intended to maintain a dignified silence but felt compelled to act after she and Ashwin Verma’s 11-year-old son were involved. Ganguly has demanded an unconditional public apology with compensation of ₹50 crore and even warned of further legal action if this is not met.

The notice also clarified that Ganguly was friends with Ashwin Verma for 12 years before he separated from his second wife, Esha’s mother, in 2009. Ganguly and her husband had previously tried to support Esha’s acting career by arranging photoshoots and auditions.

How did the Rupali Ganguly stepdaughter controversy begin?

It all started when a Reddit post went viral after a user shared snippets of an old Facebook comment made by Esha.

In the comment, she accused Ganguly of having an affair with her father Ashwin while he was still married to her mother, describing Rupali as "cruel-hearted".

The post quickly made waves online, leading Ashwin to issue a statement on X denying the claims. In response, Esha posted on Instagram, saying, "There's a darker side to this story... All I ask for is compassion as it unfolds."

Amidst these developments, Esha has now deleted the video in question and made her Instagram account private.
