Kanguva Hindi Collection: Poor Advance Booking For Suriya's Film In North Despite ₹22 Cr Expenditure

Kanguva Hindi Collection: Suriya, Disha Patani and Bobby Deol have promoted their upcoming pan-India film aggressively in the North states, expecting some traction in the region. Posited is a pan-India film, Suriya's first, Kanguva will release on November 14. The advance bookings are in full swing, but the response in the Hindi market has been underwhelming, to say the least. This becomes even more noticeable when reportedly, the team has spent around ₹22 crore in promotions and release in the Hindi belts.

Kanguva Hindi advance sales: Underwhelming response

Advance bookings of the Suriya starrer were delayed due to various reasons. The pre-sales of the movie have been picking up finally in Tamil Nadu, with collections nearing ₹8 crore and a few more hours to go before its release. However, the response in the Hindi market has been muted. According to Sacnilk, Hindi 3D version of Kanguva has sold around 9,644 tickets, collecting over ₹27 lakh and the 2D version has sold 9,599 tickets, adding another ₹13 lakh to its kitty.

Cumulative, the pre-sales figures for Kanguva Hindi version now stand at a little over ₹50 lakh with over 4,200 shows running in national multiplexes and single screens. Haryana , Rajasthan , Punjab , Uttar Pradesh and Delhi have been the regions where the film has managed to find some audiences.

Kanguva producer rubbishes claims about slow Hindi bookings

During a promotional event in Mumbai on Tuesday, producer KE Gnanavel Raja was asked about the slow bookings of the Kanguva Hindi version. He rubbished the reports, saying that the Hindi bookings were not open yet. However, he appeared irked at the question, hinting at his displeasure. Reportedly, Kanguva is made on a budget of ₹350 crore. It is directed by Siva.
