The President also approved 305 defence decorations to Armed Forces and other personnel. On US Supreme Court clearing 26/11 Mumbai attack suspect Tahawwur Rana's extradition to India, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Anand Dubey says, "Tahawwur Rana is the biggest enemy of our country... Two cars caught fire in Sector 2 of the Maha Kumbh fair area on Saturday morning, but no casualties were reported, officials said.

Chief Fire Officer (Maha Kumbh) Pramod Sharma said a car entering the fair area from Varanasi caught fire due to a short circuit, Another car adjacent to it also caught fire.

Fire department personnel responded promptly, safely rescuing the occupants from the cars. No injuries were reported in the incident, he added.

A seven-year-old boy was stabbed to death with scissors by an alleged drug addict in Uttar Pradesh's Baghpat district, police said on Saturday.The victim, Afzal had gone missing on Thursday morning. His body was recovered from a sugarcane field adjacent to a jungle in Adampur village, following the arrest of the accused neighbour, Shavez (19), officials said.

A cache of explosives buried in a jungle was recovered in Assam’s Sonitpur district on Saturday, even as security was tightened across the state for 76th Republic Day celebrations, police said.The explosives, including 36 grenades and three detonators, were found wrapped in a polythene bag during a search operation, they said.

The Indian Army launched a search operation in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua on Saturday after terrorists fired a few rounds, officials said.

According to the Indian Army, they noticed suspicious movement in the Bhatodi area of Kathua late last night.

"An exchange of fire took place, and a few rounds were fired. The search operation is underway," the Army said.

The Army also retaliated during the exchange. So far, no casualties have been reported.

Mumbai Police collected actor Saif Ali Khan's blood sample and clothes for investigation as part of the oprobe into the attack on the actor at his residence last week.

The remand copy of the accused available with ANI states that the clothes Saif Ali Khan was wearing at the time of the attack were taken into police custody for investigation.

Apart from this, blood stains have been found on the clothes worn by the accused Shariful Islam on the night of the incident, for which Saif Ali Khan's blood samples have also been collected.

President of Indonesia meets PM Narendra Modi at Rashtrapati Bhavan 

The Western Railway has initiated a three-day jumbo block, which will take place on the 24th, 25th, and 26th of this month. The mega block commenced at 11 PM last night, with plans to extend until 8:30 AM each morning.

While the block is primarily scheduled for nighttime hours to minimize disruption, it, unfortunately, caused significant inconvenience for passengers travelling between 5:30 AM and 6:45 AM.

Many commuters were affected by delays and service interruptions during this early morning period, highlighting the challenges posed by the necessary maintenance and upgrades being conducted on the railway. Efforts are being made to complete the work efficiently and restore normal service as quickly as possible.

This block was taken for the construction of a bridge between Bandra and Mahim. Currently, Western Railway has resumed normal operations.

 Delhi on Saturday recorded a minimum temperature of 8.6 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The weather department has forecast a mainly clear sky during the day and the maximum temperature is likely to hover around 23 degrees Celsius.

As the assembly elections in Delhi draw near, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has formed a task force to attract voters from the Purvanchal community residing in the national capital, party sources said.

According to the sources, AAP has formed seven teams, under party leader Sanjay Singh's leadership, to cover the seven Lok Sabha constituencies in Delhi. The role of these teams is to prepare a strategy to connect voters from the Purvanchal community with AAP at the ground level.

Containment zone and section 144 was imposed in the Badhal village of Rajouri district on Saturday due to the outbreak of an unidentified illness that has claimed 17 lives.

District administration authorities have established checkpoints on all routes leading to the village and have bene providing facilities from ration to drinking water
Additionally, restrictions were imposed on public and private gatherings to prevent the spread of the mysterious disease. Medical teams have also been deployed to the villages to provide treatment and conduct tests in order to identify the cause of the illness.

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has appealed to the Centre to sanction 20 lakh houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana 2.0 to the state, besides funds for other projects including proposed Metro Rail corridors.   A release from the CMO on Friday night said Reddy urged Union Minister for Housing and Urban Development  Manohar Lal Khattar to allocate one lakh solar pumps under PM Kusum to ensure continuous supply of irrigation water to tribal farmers in Telangana.

Indian Railways on Saturday conducted the trial run of the first Vande Bharat train from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra (SVDK) railway station to Srinagar railway station.

The train will run through Anji Khad Bridge which is India's first cable-stayed railway bridge and Chenab Bridge which is the highest railway bridge in the world.
This train has been designed keeping in mind the cold climate conditions of the Kashmir valley.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has appealed to the people of Delhi to give a landslide victory to the BJP in the upcoming Delhi Assembly election. The chief minister alleged that the AAP government had cheated the people in the name of education, health and other basic facilities.

Authorities have cancelled all leaves of doctors and paramedics in the wake of a medical alert following the deaths of 17 people from Badhaal village in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district due to a mysterious illness.

The number of people sent to quarantine has risen to 230.

Union minister Dr Jitendra Singh said the initial investigation conducted by the toxicology laboratory in Lucknow concluded that the cause was not any infection, virus or bacteria but a toxin.

A non-cognisable case has been registered against Hemant Bagul, son of former Pune deputy mayor Aba Bagul, for allegedly slapping a motorcyclist, at a traffic signal in Mangalwar Peth on Tuesday.

According to the police officials, the incident occurred when Fayaz Sayyad's two-wheeler brushed against Bagul's car after Sayyad lost balance as a car door opened

The whole incident came to light after a video went viral on social media where it was seen that the motorcycle was trapped between two cars at a traffic signal.

When the door of one of the vehicles opens, Sayyad's two-wheeler brushes against Bagul's car. According to Sayyad, Bagul abused and slapped him. While, Bagul claimed that Sayyad had threatened him, police said.

The Border Security Force (BSF) recovered a drone and one packet of heroin, along the International border in Punjab's Amritsar on Friday.

"At about 01:40 pm, BSF troops recovered 01 DJI Air 3 S drone along with one packet of suspected heroin (Gross weight: 559 grams) from a farming field adjacent to Village Kakkar, district Amritsar," a press release stated.

Earlier on Wednesday, BSF recovered two drones in two separate incidents from the border area of Amritsar and Fazilka district of Punjab.

The Gujarat Police have made extensive arrangements for the highly anticipated Coldplay concert, which is scheduled to be held on January 25 and 26 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, an official said.

Speaking to ANI, JCP Ahmedabad Police, Neeraj Kumar Badgujar said that over 3,800 police personnel have been deployed, along with metal detectors.

Additionally, 400 CCTV cameras have also been set up to monitor the event, and plainclothes officers, including female police officers and staff, have been assigned to ensure the safety of the fans.
