A tragic shooting incident at the Beersheba central bus station in southern Israel on Sunday left one person dead and eight others wounded. The police have classified the event as a terror attack, confirming that the assailant has been neutralized.

“Paramedics have pronounced a 25-year-old female deceased, and are evacuating 10 casualties,” Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel’s national ambulance service, said in a statement.

According to a report from the Jerusalem Post, the attack unfolded in a busy area, causing panic among passengers and bystanders. Emergency services from MDA swiftly arrived on the scene, providing medical assistance to those injured.

The MDA reported that one individual was transported to Soroka Medical Center in moderate-to-serious condition, while four others were admitted with moderate injuries. Three individuals suffered minor wounds.

Earlier on Sunday, Israeli airstrikes targeted a mosque in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of at least 19 people, according to Palestinian officials. The mosque, situated near a hospital in the central town of Deir al-Balah, had been providing shelter for displaced residents.

The Israeli military claimed that the strikes were aimed at militants but did not present any evidence to support this assertion. Additionally, Israel has ramped up its military operations in northern Gaza, particularly in the densely populated Jabaliya refugee camp, as part of a broader response to ongoing rocket attacks from Hamas and other militant groups. Ground and air offensives are currently underway in the area.
