The American Civil Liberties Union and other advocates have sued Trump over his executive order ending automatic citizenship for anyone born in the United States, arguing that he is wrongly denying a right enshrined in the U.S. Constitution.

Hours after Donald Trump presumed the Oval Office as the 47th US President, Vivek Ramaswamy is no longer part of the 'Department of Government Efficiency,' leaving Tesla CEO and billionaire Elon Musk to run the cost-cutting operation alone.

Anna Kelly, a spokesperson for the commission, in a statement said, "Vivek Ramaswamy played a critical role in helping us create DOGE. He intends to run for elected office soon, which requires him to remain outside of DOGE, based on the structure that we announced today. We thank him immensely for his contributions over the last 2 months and expect him to play a vital role in making America great again.”

Trump also signed orders aimed to withdraw the US from the World Health Organization.

Trump said he thinks Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wants to make a deal to end the conflict.

As Trump signed an order to keep TikTok emphasising that US should half of the app which is worth $1 trillion.

“I think the U.S. should be entitled to get half of TikTok and, congratulations, TikTok has a good partner and that would be worth, you know, could be $500 billion,” Trump said.

“I used to ask, ‘Is it the taste, or what is it? He didn’t know what to say about it because, frankly, it was just something that he liked," Trump said to the paper. 

Speaking about his views on alcohol, he said "Let’s say I started drinking, it’s very possible I wouldn’t be talking to you right now.”

In a separate interview, Trump said that not drinking alcohol was probably his only good habit.

Unlike the inauguration speech, the speech Trump is delivering right now is unscripted. Former President Joe Biden is speaking right now as well, at the Joint Base Andrews, however, it isn't exactly clear what he is saying because TV channels are covering both the speeches in split screen but only Trump's speech is audible.

Donald Trump intends to sign nearly 100 executive orders. It isn't clear as of now how strongly Democrats will push back against these orders. 

Near the end of his speech, Trump said that “we will not be conquered, we will not be intimidated". 

“We will not fail. From this day on, the United States of America will be a free, sovereign and independent nation. The future is ours, and our golden age has just begun,” Trump said. 

Donald Trump is reminding Americans of their remarkable history. He is reminding his nation's citizens how from a few colonies, US grew to become the most powerful nation on earth, by exploring and taming the frontier lands. “The spirit of the frontier lives amongst us," he says. Trump stated that the American national flag will be planted on Mars. 

"We will pursue our manifest destiny into the stars, to plant the stars and stripes on planet Mars," he said. He also suggested that the US will expand its territory, as it has throughout its history. In 2026, US will complete 250 years of independence. It will be interesting to see if the US does indeed add new territories within its borders. 

"I stand before you as proof that you should never believe something is impossible to do. In America, doing the impossible is what we do best," Trump said.  

Donald Trump says he will rename the Gulf of Mexico to Gulf of America. He also said that US will take back the Panama Canal. 

"We didn't give it to China. We're taking it back," he said. 

Trump says that he will ensure American institutions aren't being polluted by wokeism. In his speech, he criticizes DEI policies and says he will make America color blind again. He adds that he will restore meritocracy in the US. 

“America Will Have Only Two Genders — Male and Female,” he said. 

He assured Americans that he will end the current government policy of bringing race and gender into every aspect of public and private life. 

Reflecting on the assassination attempt on him, Trump says that his life was saved for a reason, to make America great again. He said that he has been tested more than any other president. 

“America will be a manufacturing nation once again,” says Trump. He adds that the US had an advantage which no other nation has, that is its vast energy resources, the oil and gas. Manufacturing is important for the US because over the past few decades, US' industrial base has eroded. 

Donald Trump has said that he'll declare a national emergency in America's southern border. “All illegal entry will be immediately halted," he says. “I will send troops to the southern border to stop the invasion,” he adds. He also stated that the drug cartels will be categorized as terrorist organizations. 

Donald Trump says that January 20th, 2025, will be Liberation Day for American citizens. 

He thanks Americans who trusted him. 

“From this moment, America's decline is over,” Trump says. In his speech, Trump is laying out how America has lost its way. He mentioned the recent fires in Los Angeles, and said that is was interesting that some of the most wealthy people in US no longer have a home. 

"We now have a government that cannot manage even a simple crisis at home," Trump says. 

“We are at the start of a new era of national success,” Trump says. His speech, as of now, sounds much more optimistic than his speech back in 2017.

Donald Trump is returning to the White House ready to immediately overhaul the government using the fastest tool he has — the executive order.

An incoming president signing a flurry of executive orders is standard practice. Executive orders allow a president to wield power without action from Congress. But there are also limits to what orders can achieve.

A primer on how the presidential power works and its often fleeting impact: What are executive orders? Basically, they are signed statements about how the president wants the federal government to be managed. They can be instructions to federal agencies or requests for reports.

Many orders can be unobjectionable, such as giving federal employees the day after Christmas off. They can also lay out major policies. For example, President Joe Biden signed an order to create a structure for establishing regulations on artificial intelligence. But executive orders — and their policy sausage-making siblings, the proclamation and political memorandum — also are used by presidents to pursue agendas they can't get through Congress.

New presidents can — and often do — issue orders to cancel the orders of their predecessors.

He said the press excoriated him during the campaign for repeatedly bringing up the fictitious character Hannibal Lecter but suggested some of the immigrants living in the U.S. “are probably worse.”

The crowd applauded as he teased plans for mass deportation, without going into detail.

Elon Musk, co-director of Trump’s DOGE initiative to dismantle parts of the federal government, stuttered a bit when he was invited onstage to discuss the program’s plans.

“What matters going forward is to actually make significant changes, cement those changes and set the foundation for America to be strong for a century, for centuries, forever,” said Musk, dressed in a black overcoat and tie that was dressier than his typical attire.

“This victory is the start, really,” he said.

Trump shared plans to travel to L.A. on Friday to survey the damage of wildfires that killed at least 27 people and scorched the largest urban area of California in at least 40 years.

Trump said he’s praying for the survivors of the Los Angeles wildfires and will help rebuild the city “more beautiful” than ever before.
 

Biden and his wife Jill will travel to Santa Ynez, Calif. on Monday after attending Trump’s inauguration, the White House announced.

They will depart the Capitol after the ceremony and attend a farewell event with former staffers at Joint Base Andrews outside of Washington before boarding an Air Force plane for the trip.
