American audio company Bose has invested an undisclosed amount in Gurugram-based wearables startup Noise, the company said Monday.

This marks the homegrown D2C company’s first fundraise, which ends their bootstrapped streak and forays the smartwatch and electronics company into a Series A round.

Amit Khatri, Co-Founder, Noise, said, “It’s about the right partnership at the right time, and we firmly believe that our strategic alliance with Bose will be a pivotal juncture in our journey towards revolutionizing the future of smart wearables realm.”

The 5-year old company has nine industry-first innovations to its credit and is credited as the number 1 smartwatch brand, as well as the number two true wireless earphones (TWS) company in the country.

“As we looked at the opportunity to reach more people with the benefits of our technology in India, investing in Noise became an obvious choice,” said Nicholas Smith, senior vice president, strategy and business development at Bose.

The two companies are likely to build on product and market synergy.
