President Ram Nath Kovind appoints Narendra Modi to the office of the Prime Minister of India
PM Narendra Modi met President Ram Nath Kovind to stake claim to form the government. President Kovind, following this, appointed PM Modi to the office of Prime Minister of India.

President Ram Nath Kovind appointed PM Narendra Modi to office of Prime Minister of India for a second consecutive term.
"Exercising powers vested in him under Article 75 (1) of Constitution of India, President Kovind, today appoint Narendra Modi to office of Prime Minister of India," he said.

"President today gave me a letter designating me as Prime Minister... country has given me a huge mandate and mandate comes with expectations of people," PM Modi said, after being appointed to post of Prime Minister.
A delegation led by BJP chief Amit Shah, and comprising Prakash Singh Bal, Rajnath Singh, Nitish Kumar, Ram Vilas Paswan, Sushma Swaraj, Uddhav Thakeray, Nitin Gkari, K. Palaniswami, Conr Sangma and Neiphiu Rio, called on President Kovind on Saturday evening. y handed to him a letter stating that PM Modi h been elected leer of BJP Parliamentary Party. President Ram Nath Kovind tweeted saying that he h asked PM Modi to vise him about names of ors to be appointed members of Union Council of Ministers, and indicate date and time of swearing-in-ceremony to be held at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
BJP won 303 Lok Sabha seats while party's alliance NDA won 352 seats.

With dissolution of 16th Lok Sabha, following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's resignation and subsequent acceptance of resignation by President Ramnath Kovind, PM is all set to lay his claim on upcoming government.
