New Delhi: As Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA is all set to form government at Centre on June 9 with Janata Dal (United) (JD(U) and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) among major parties under its fold, JD(U) leer and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s top aide KC Tyagi has me big revelations, stating that Opposition INDI bloc h approached ir party a few days ago in a bid to turn events in ir favour and form an INDI govt at Centre.

KC Tyagi, Chief General Secretary and National Spokesperson of JD(U), claimed that a few leers from ir INDI bloc h approached his party with a proposal to make Nitish Kumar as Prime Minister if he joined INDI Alliance but y refused to join hands with m.

Speaking exclusively to Republic Media Network, JD(U) leer said, " INDI bloc leers, which initially didn’t agree on making Nitish Kumar convener of alliance, were proposing to make Nitish Kumar Prime Minister if he came under alliance fold, after poll results.”

“This happened a day before yesterday. INDI bloc kept luring Nitish Kumar with this offer until he extended his support (to NDA) yesterday. We declined offer since Kumar fought elections with intention of remaining with NDA. events that unfolded this week indicate that JD(U) has a significant role in oath-taking ceremony and we have put a full stop on such rumours from first day,” he ded while choosing to not disclose names of leers and party that approached JD(U).

On Friday morning, newly-elected lawmakers of BJP-led NDA elected Narendra Modi as ir leer, paving way for him to take oath as Prime Minister for third consecutive term.

NDA tally currently stands at 293, comfortably above majority mark of 272 in 543-member Lower House. BJP secured victory in 240 out of 543 seats, while Congress improved its national tally by claiming 99 seats. Though Lok Sabha has 543 members, counting was held for 542 seats following unopposed election of BJP's Surat candidate, Mukesh Dalal.
