Australia: Plane delivers pizza & beer to remote areas amid Coronavirus lockdown

Dunmarra Wayside Inn, a roadhouse located in Katherine, Australia owned by the pilot Gary frost, launched flight-takeouts to deliver in remote areas.

An establishment in Australia is reportedly delivering pizzas and beer on a plane in remote rrn territory amidst lockdown in an attempt to cater to those that reside in severely isolated areas. Dunmarra Wayside Inn, a roadhouse located 315 kilometers south of Karine is owned by pilot Gary frost, who decided to serve locals in surrounding cattle stations to keep ir spirits up during pandemic, as per media reports. 

Frost told media outlets that residents lived at such a distance that body would be able to go anywhere. re were limited options to be able to get supplies and refreshments, with negligible transportation, Frost said. He fixed a small winged aircraft for trial takeaway flights to deliver meals in homes located relatively far away.

Ben Anderson, inn's manr, and chef told a news ncy that Australian outbacks that received pizza and beer absolutely loved m. He said that business kept plane deliveries discreet until y were certain that idea was a success and people benefitted out of it. n it was kwn to public as diner received several calls requesting for delivery at far-flung places.

Deliveries left at door

staff at roadhouse was reported as saying that business trickled down to nil post COVID-19 disease outbreak restrictions on movement and tourism. Most caravans suspended operation, and tourists vanished out of sight, months of booking at roadside establishment was eir cancelled or posh rooms remained unbooked.

Inn’s owner Gary Frost told national broadcasters that flying orders to people's housing at remote properties was a display of support and compassion than simply, a business venture. Under restrictions, fly-in and fly-out deliveries were left at door for residents to pick, Garry was furr quoted as saying.
