Khiladi Akshay Kumar is reportedly one of the biggest stars in Bollywood. He is also the only Indian actor to be featured on the Forbes List Of Highest-Paid Actors in 2019. Apart from Akshay, Jackie Chan is the only other non-Hollywood actor to have featured on the list. The fomer is currently running high on the success of his recent film, Mission Mangal. However, like anyone else, Akshay Kumar has also had his fair share of bad choices in terms of movies.

Akshay Kumar had a pretty good run at the box office the past few years. He has been consistently delivering three to four movies every year unlike his contemporaries like Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgn, Shahrukh Khan, etc. He is also known as one of the most disciplined actors in Bollywood. Yet, it has not always been a fairy-tale ride for Akshay Kumar. Here is a look at some of his most disappointing movies as per the box-office results, and audience reactions.

1.       Action Replayy (2010)

Action Replayy saw the lead actors Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan go back and forth in time. The film also starred Aditya Roy Kapoor, Neha Dhupia, Om Puri, and Kirron Kher in supporting roles. The film was loosely based on the 1985 film Back To The Future. Action Replayy received one of the worst box-office openings ever for an Akshay Kumar movie.

2.       Blue (2009)

Blue, released in 2009, starred Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Zayed Khan, and Lara Dutta in lead roles. At the time of its release, Blue was one of the most expensive Bollywood films ever made. It was based on the Hollywood film Into The Blue. The film received mixed reaction from the audience and critics. The film's earnings slowed down in the second week, and it was declared a flop.

3.       Tees Maar Khan (2010)

Akshay Kumar starred in this Farah Khan-directed flick along with Katrina Kaif. Tees Maar Khan also gave fans the hit item number, Sheila Ki Jawaani. The film was released alongside another Akshay Kumar starrer, Action Replayy. Even though Tees Maar Khan covered up its costs, it was a disappointment in terms of storyline and plot, in the opinions of critics and audiences.

Despite a high number of flop movies, Akshay Kumar is still one of the biggest stars in Bollywood. He is known for all taking up movies that have a patriotic or social message. He makes up for the badly performing experiments with those roles that work out for him. Currently, he is shooting for Laxmmi Bomb where he will be playing a transgender for the first time. Akshay Kumar is also gearing up for the release of Housefull 4.
