Howdy Modi: Salman Khan hails PM Modi and Trump's 'great association'

While the extravagant 'Howdy, Modi!' event is being held at Houston, Texas, the Modi-Trump association got a huge shout-out from Bollywood star Salman Khan.

In one of the biggest events celebrating the bilateral relationship between India and the USA, the Howdy, Modi! event was organized in Houston, Texas. PM Narendra Modi address 50,000 people from the Indian-American community on Sunday evening. US President Donald Trump shared the stage with PM Modi at the event as he heaped praises for 'friend from India.'

While the event is appreciated by a number of celebrities on social media, the Modi-Trump summit got a shout-out from Bollywood star Salman Khan recently. The actor took to Twitter and shared a still of the two country leaders from the event. He captioned the post saying, "Way to go PM Modi and Prez Trump for a great association between the 2 nations..."

Howdy, Modi! event

Organized by the non-profit Texas India Forum, the event, with the tagline 'Shared Dreams, Bright Futures', highlighted the tremendous contribution of Indo-Americans in the United States and the strong and lasting partnership between the US and India.

The cultural programme preceding Prime Minister Modi's address showcased Indian-American artists from Texas and elsewhere, portrayed how the community is woven into the larger tapestry of American life. It involved broad-based community participation across the United States.

The 90-minute music, dance, and multimedia show featured close to 400 artists and community members from Texas and across the nation. There were 27 groups performing in a live and multimedia experience that showcased the diversity in the Indian-American community, organizers said.

What's next for Salman Khan

Meanwhile, Salman Khan who last graced the screen in 'Bharat' is busy starring and producing 'Dabangg 3'. The film which is the third installment of his famous cop franchise will see him reprising the role of infamous cop Chulbul Pandey. 'Dabangg 3' also stars Arbaaz Khan, Mahesh Manjekar's daughter Ashwami Manjrekar, among others.  Directed by Prabhudeva, the Salman Khan starrer is gearing up for a Christmas 2019 release.
