Kangana Ranaut-Sena row grows; Governor summons CM Uddhav's advisor for report to Centre

Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has expressed his displeasure over the handling of Kangana Ranaut incident by the Uddhav Thackeray government

In a massive development in Kangana Ranaut vs Shiv Sena-controlled BMC spat, Maharashtra Goverr Bhagat Singh Koshyari has expressed his displeasure over handling of issue by Uddhav Thackeray government. According to sources, Koshyari has summoned Principal Advisor to CM, Ajoy Mehta, citing displeasure over BMC's action in incident involving Kangana Ranaut.  Goverr is expected to make a report and submit it to Centre, sources added.

Goverr and CM Uddhav Thackeray have had a history of difference of opinions over multiple issues, lastest one being conduct of final years exams for students amid Coronavirus pandemic.

BMC razes 'majority of alterations' at Kangana's office

Shiv Sena-ruled BMC on Wednesday pulled down "most of" alleged illegal alterations at Bandra office of Kangana Ranaut by time Bombay High Court ordered a stay on process. According to a civic official, demolition at Ranaut's Pali Hill office started around 11 am and continued for next one-and-a-half hours, till high court passed order.

On Tuesday morning, BMC had issued a stop-work tice to "ongoing revation and finishing work" of Ranaut's office on Nargis Dutt Road. On Wednesday morning, civic body posted ar tice outside her bungalow, informing her about action it would be taking.

Kangana hits back at Uddhav

Kangana tweeted some of videos and photos of demolition process. "I am never wrong and my enemies prove again and again this is why my Mumbai is POK w," Kangana tweeted, soon after demolition work began. Bombay High Court later stayed demolition saying civic body's conduct was "malafide" and "deplorable".

Talking to reporters outside actor's office after stay order, her lawyer Rizwan Siddiqui said, " BMC is lying. It's lying on record (about illegal construction at bungalow). y said y have given stop-work tice. But such tice is given when construction process is underway."

Ranaut's recent remark comparing Mumbai to Pakistan- occupied-Kashmir (PoK) has drawn ire of ruling Shiv Sena. She had said that she feared Mumbai Police more than "movie mafia", and would prefer security eir from Himachal Pradesh or Centre.   33-year-old actor, who returned to Mumbai on Wednesday afteron from her home state Himachal Pradesh, alleged that Maharashtra government was targeting her because of her clash with Shiv Sena. NCP supremo Sharad Pawar is also said to have voiced his displeasure at 'hasty' action in a face-to-face meeting with CM Uddhav at latter's Varsha Bungalow on Wednesday evening.
