Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao is one of the most talented actors of Bollywood. He underwent a lot of struggle to make a mark in the film industry. Shahid (2013)

Released in 2013, Shahid movie is based on the life of a renowned activist and a lawyer, Shahid Azmi. He was assassinated by four men in 2010 in the city of Mumbai. Rajkummar gracefully portrayed the titular character of a criminal lawyer who represents the guilty in high profile terror cases. This critically acclaimed biographical drama helmed by Hansal Mehta earned the actor his first National Award.

Citylights (2014)

The Shahid actor was praised to the skies for his portrayal of Deepak Singh in Citylights. Helmed by Hansal Mehta, the film showcases the bitter realities of life. Rajkummar Rao essayed the role of a husband who migrates with his wife and kid to lead a better life in Mumbai. Soon Deepak discovers the monetary challenges that force him into unfavourable circumstances. Citylights was his girlfriend Patralekha’s debut film in Bollywood.

Stree (2018)

Amar Kaushik’s horror comedy-drama film Stree featured Rajkummar Rao in a pivotal role. Produced under the banner of Maddock Films, the film also starred Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, and Aparshakti Khurana as supporting characters. Stree was a strong box office turnout and earned the makers lots of acclaims. According to sources, the makers are already preparing for its next sequel.

Newton (2017)

Written and directed by Amit Masurkar, this satirical black comedy film showcases Rajkummar Rao as a government clerk. Newton touches depth and loopholes of the system in an even-toned way. The wonderful acting of Rajkummar did justice to the well-written script by portraying the dark truths of life in his performance. Newton received universal acclaim, and Pankaj Tripathi won a special mention at a National awards function.
