Saandh Ki Aankh, starring Bhumi Pednekar and Taapsee Pannu in the lead, will be out this Friday. Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, the movie is based on the real-life story of 'Sharpshooter Dadis' Chandro and Prakashi Tomar. Ever since the trailer was launched, the makers have been criticised for casting young actors (Taapsee and Bhumi) for the role of 60-year-old characters. While Taapsee had a befitting reply for the criticisms, Bhumi has been keeping mum over the matter. But, the actor, in a recent interview to a national daily, revealed her point of view on the ageism debate.
The actor revealed that she was approached for the role by the makers and that she did not pursue the makers for bagging the role. So, blaming the actors for the casting is unfair. She further added that if she starts rejecting movies like Saandh Ki Aankh, she will soon be out of work. According to Bhumi, movies like these (Saandh Ki Aankh), offer her a chance to showcase her acting prowess.
Bhumi Pednekar, who plays the role of Chandro Tomar in the film, is all set to entertain the movie-goers with her next few releases. Her November release Bala is earning praises by the movie enthusiasts for its unique storyline. The actor is busy preparing for the Karan Johar directorial Takht. The movie, touted to be a historical drama, has an ensemble cast consisting of Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor, among others.
