'Soorarai Pottru': Film's Hindi remake to have 'fresh' album, says music composer G V Prakash

Music composer G V Prakash Kumar on Sunday said he has finished recording three songs for Hindi remake of National Award-winning Tamil hit "Soorarai Pottru", starring Akshay Kumar. Directed by Sudha Kongara, 2020 film was headlined by Suriya. Hindi remake, also helmed by Kongara, will see Kumar take up role originally played by Suriya.

"Soorarai Pottru" recently bagged five National Awards, including best feature film, best actor for Suriya, best actress for Aparna Balamurali, best screenplay (Kongara and Shalini Ushadevi) and best background score for Prakash Kumar. composer gave an insight into soundtrack and background score of upcoming movie to fans on social media.

"Finished recording three songs for #sooraraipottru Hindi remake. Will be a completely fresh album with new tunes and songs. And new bgscore … super charged about it (sic)," he wrote on Twitter." Soorarai Pottru" revolved around Nedumaaran Rajangam or 'Maara', played by Suriya, who sets out to make common man fly and in process takes on world's most capital intensive industry with help of his family, friends and sheer will power.

film's story was partly inspired by events from life of Air Deccan founder Captain G R Gopinath. After multiple national award win of "Soorarai Pottru" on Friday, Kumar sent a congratulatory tweet to team of film.

"Over moon to see #SooraraiPottru win top hours at National Awards. Heartfelt congratulations my bror @Suriya_offl, #AparrnaBalamurali and my director #SudhaKongara. Humbled to be working in Hindi adaptation of such an iconic film," Kumar had tweeted. actor began filming project in April, this year. Hindi remake also stars Radhika Madan.
