BTS to serve mandatory military service, Jin will be 1st to join; read official statement
BTS' agency, Big Hit issued a statement announcing that the band will be going ahead and fulfilling military service with Jin being the first to serve.

After a successful Busan concert by K-pop band, BTS, fans are jolted by shocking news. group's ncy Big Hit took to Weverse and anunced that band will be going ahe and fulfilling military service decision was rolled out after lengthy discussions and debates that were going on for over a year. members have decided to fulfill ir service. ncy said that y will withdraw ir request to delay enlistment of Jin, who will turn 30, in December.
While fans were waiting for decision from Korean government, it seems that band members have agreed to serve mandatory military service. decision comes after phemenal response to concert and w this time seems like perfect one for BTS to move forward with ir duties towards country. In a statement, music company said Jin's process of enlistment will begin by October end. or six members will also be enlisted as and when y are asked for it.

For unversed, South Korean law requires all able-bodied men to perform 18-21 months of military service. Exemptions regarding military service, like one that became a talking point in case of BTS, are considered controversial in country where inequality and privilege are debatable subjects.
