Dulquer Salmaan reveals why he said yes to Guns and Gulaabs

In Guns & Gulaabs, Dulquer Salmaan portrays the role of Arjun, a police officer entering the fictional town of Gulaabgunj. Arjun's journey of uncovering the town's secrets  and the fact that he is an 'outsider' intrigued the actor. Dulquer described the series as a genre-bender, something that he finds exciting. He shared that he is drawn to projects that stand out and push creative boundaries.

"I fell in love with this world that they were creating – Gulaabgunj – it was unique and quirky. Most of the cast members were already onboard when I was approached and I thought it was a great ensemble to be part of," he said.

The actor said that his involvement in the web series Guns & Gulaabs was driven by his love for the world Raj & DK were creating. The storyline of the series, which is set in the fictional town of Gulaabgunj in the 90s and features gangsters, fascinated him. Dulquer praised Raj & DK's approach to storytelling in the long-format. He said that he admires how each character's arc is well-defined. 

Dulquer Salmaan on not doing remakes

Dulquer Salmaan said that he does not want to do remakes or adaptations. He called this a conscious decision he made even before entering the industry. Dulquer added that he believes in creating something new and original as he finds fulfillment in the process of exploring uncharted territories.
