Avengers fans have answered their own main question after the mega Captain Marvel news
Marvel made a lot of people's very happy by announcing that a trailer would debut on Monday (Tuesday morning IST) but judging by the reactions of a substantial section of ardent fans of the superhero universe, one thing could have been different -- namely that it should have been the Avengers 4 trailer that came out first and not the second Captain Marvel trailer!

Marvel made a lot of people very happy by announcing that a trailer would debut on Monday (Tuesday morning IST) but judging by the reactions of a substantial section of ardent fans of the superhero universe, one thing could have been different -- namely that it should have been the Avengers 4 trailer that came out first and not the second Captain Marvel trailer!
Logically, this would make sense as it has been more than two months since the first Captain Marvel trailer released and seeing as the film will release two months before Avengers 4, it makes sense that the trailer for the final film in the series (in its current iteration) should have come out.

However, it is clear that in the case of Avengers 4, the standard rules haven't exactly applied. For one, we still don't know the title of the film, even though we already know titles for Marvel Cinematic Universe releases scheduled for well after Avengers 4, such as Spider-Man: Far Far Away. All we know about Avengers 4 is speculative names, such as End-Game and Annihilation.
While it is easy to make arguments for why Avengers 4 is out of the ordinary -- it is the film that has been built up to for over a decade, it follows the universe-shaking events of Infinity War, any glimpse of new footage could give away tonnes of spoilers and so on. -- it's not like Avengers fans are buying it.

Here's the overall line of responses to Captain Marvel's new poster reveal:
As can be seen above, a number of people are quite confident that the Avengers 4 trailer will follow hot on the heels of the second Captain Marvel trailer. However, we've been down this path before, when November 28 was said to be the day that the trailer would release. There was even a #WhereIsAvengers4Trailer campaign after the prediction turned out to be untrue.

Whenever it is that the trailer releases, one thing we know is that the film will come out on May 3, 2019.
