Brad Pitt says it is a mistake to define films on their opening weekend numbers as some of the best films pick up later and are timeless hits.

Hollywood star Br Pitt says it is wrong to judge films on basis of ir opening weekend numbers as some of best cinema is discovered later. actor, who is having a moment in culture with Oscar buzz surrounding two of his movies -- Quentin Taranti's "Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood" and epic " Astra", says he would like to see his films survive test of time.

Don't judge a film by its opening numbers: Br Pitt
In an interview with GQ journalist Zach Baron, Pitt opened up about his views on success of James Gray-directed venture.
"Well, for financiers, wher it be studio or independent, that will be monetary. And most of our films, which I feel is a mistake, get defined by opening weekend. y'll say it's a hit or it's a miss. But all of my favourite films, I found m well after fact," Pitt said in interview.

Looking at films that will survive test of time: Pitt
55-year-old star, who is also one of producers on Disney/Fox movie, said, "I guess that doesn't answer my fiduciary responsibility. But it does! Actually I disagree with that. Because I'm looking at film: Does it have anything to say in 10 years or 20 years? Could it still have legs? Could it still be around? History is rife with films that we love today that were abysmal bombs' on ir opening weekend. And we find m later, or we catch up with m."

He is t far off mark about films living beyond irrespective of ir immediate box office fate. Pitt's " Assasination of Jesse James" and "Fight Club", which were deemed financial failures at time of ir release, went on to achieve cult status among cinephiles later.
