'Mulan' to release later in China amid coronavirus surge, Liu Yifei hopes for 'a miracle'

Disney live-action film will bear the brunt of delay in scheduled release due to the epidemic which originated in China,the 2nd largest Box-Office in the world.

Disney's much-anticipated action drama film Mulan is slated for a worldwide release on March 27. However, film will reportedly t be released in China owing to outbreak of deadly coronavirus epidemic. movie aters in China have reportedly been indefinitely shut down because of virus first detected in Wuhan and is w on brink of becoming a pandemic. Actor Liu Yifei who portrays eponymous character Mulan in Disney film spoke to an international ncy and said that she has been hoping for a miracle to end epidemic before release of film a month from w.

With China as 2nd largest Box-Office market in world, a big-budget film like Mulan is likely to suffer in its collections through its worldwide run. film, made on a budget of $200 million, isn't only film to suffer due to coronavirus outbreak as even Robert Downey Jr. starrer Dolittle and Taika Waititi's Jojo Rabbit had to bear brunt of epidemic.

Liu Yifei, who lives in Beijing, is originally from Wuhan and stands in solidarity with decision to delay film's release in China. She said that even though situation in China affects her a great deal, she is glad that people are taking right step to avoid furr harm. She said that she has been hoping for a miracle to end scare among people who have t been getting out of ir homes for weeks w.
