Jenifer Lopez and Shakira have been roped in to headline the 2020's Super Bowl halftime show to be held on February 2 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

Hollywood actor and singer, Jenifer Lopez and Spanish Singer, Shakira, have been roped in to headline the 2020's Super Bowl halftime show to be held on February 2 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. It will be produced by the Roc Nation, a company headed by rapper Jay Z.
A star-studded show
Both the singers shared the news with their fans before a tweet on Pepsi Co's Twitter handle stated that J-Lo and Shakira would be performing for the first time together in their career.

Todd Kaplan, Pepsi's vice president, stated that both the singers would be setting an example of what heights the upcoming show could reach. He further added that it would a performance to watch out for considering their popularity.
J-Lo stated that she was excited to show people as to what both the singers could bring on the stage at the halftime show, while Shakira called it an American dream.

An early Oscar award rumor
The public announcement for the show came right after Lopez was starting to be surrounded by an early Oscar award rumor for the role in her latest outing titled Hustlers. On The Floor hitmaker's film received a lot of positive responses and earned more than $33 million on the day it premiered in the cinemas. Her next film will see her being cast opposite Owen Wilson in a romantic comedy titled Marry Me that is still in its pre-production stages.

Meanwhile, Shakira rose to fame with her song Hips Don't Lie and was last seen on her 6th world tour in 2018, titled El Dorado world tour that had the same name as that of her diamond-certified studio album, El Dorado. The Waka Waka singer has had a very successful career as a Latin American music star that has seen her win 11 Latin Grammy and 3 grammy awards.

A fight against racism
The half-time super bowl concert is being organized after the National Football League is trying to build its image after it was penalized for the ill-treating of quarterback, Colin Kaepernick.
In the events that preceded Kaepernick's ill-treatment by the NFL, Colin was witnessed kneeling to protest against racial discrimination, something that turned into a widespread action as other players also followed Colin's action to show their solidarity towards injustice.
