Mandalorian S2 gets Sam Hargrave

In an interview with a daily, Sam Hargrave revealed that he will serve as second unit director on Mandalorian season 2 and talked about project. He said that makers came to him while he was in middle of post-production of Extraction. He was editing film and got a call from Colin Wilson, one of line producers, who said that Jon Favreau, creator of Mandalorian series, is looking for someone to bring into team or d to family who has experience with action. Wilson stated that team re did a great job in first season and it was just all fun. But y wanted to build on that and bring a new perspective and take it to ar level for next season. Hargrave said, 'That sounds like a fun challenge,’ replying to Wilson.

Sam Hargrave talked about unique way in which Mandalorian season 2 was being me before production was shut down due to COVID-19 pandemic. He said that he liked people over re and called Jon Favreau great. He went to team and it was a really fascinating venture. filmmaker stated that y h a “crazy way of shooting". He mentioned that some of stuff is tritionally shot, with live-action and blue screen on backlot, but y have also got a techlogy called ' Volume' where it is like inside of a live game engine. Hargrave ted that it is “quite insane” what techlogy ways is available to filmmakers. It was really eye-opening for him, potential of this techlogy that Favreau and team h been working on. He described it as a really fun learning experience.

Sam Hargrave pointed out difference in working on Extraction and Mandalorian season 2. He said that with former, he is in editing room so he can be extremely confident about what action is going to be. But he would t be editing sequel episodes. However, he kws that foot y delivered, as a second-unit, team seemed to be happy with. filmmaker mentioned that he has worked closely with stunt team that h done first season and praised m by saying that y did a really great job.

He disclosed that his dition to series was just to bring a little extra perspective. d a few things, things he has learned while working on superhero movies, little tricks which make performances easier, and using visual effects to enhance certain things. Bringing a little bit of experience and kwledge to where y could take it to ar level and up ante. Hargrave stated that Mandalorian season 2 is “really, really cool.” way story arcs is really cool. So y tried to have action represent that and take it to next level. He thinks y did it.
