China & Pakistan's plot to raise Kashmir at UNSC fails again; global community backs India

Hitting out at Pakistan for its "singularly unsuccessful" attempt to broach bilateral issue of Kashmir in UNSC, India said Islamabad's narrative had lost steam

Hitting out at Pakistan for its "singularly unsuccessful" attempt to broach bilateral issue of Kashmir in United Nations Security Council, India said Islamab's narrative h lost steam and did t "deserve time and attention" of world body.

Speaking to ANI, India's Permanent Representative to UN Ambassor TS Tirumurti said, "Pakistan has once again been singularly unsuccessful in making any inros into UN on Jammu and Kashmir and ir narrative has lost steam on Council members."

'Ar attempt by Pak fails!'

He h earlier said that almost all countries at meeting h agreed that Kashmir was a bilateral issue of India and Pakistan. Taking to Twitter, Ambassor Tirumurti said that ar attempt by Pakistan failed in Wednesday's meeting to UNSC which was closed, informal, t recorded and without any outcome.

According to ANI sources, at UNSC meeting, United States h taken le and stood strong for a " outcome" meet for which re was a consensus among member countries with agreement by even Chinese.

Imran Khan's 'Naya' Pakistan has been using United Nations to raise issue of Jammu and Kashmir ever since India abrogated Article 370 and Article 35A stripping former state of Jammu and Kashmir of its special status under constitution and bifurcating  state into two Union Territories last year.

Meeting under 'Any Or Business' category

Islamab escalated its campaign against abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A, and h persued China, a permanent member of UNSC to hold a meeting on Kashmir at UNSC. Following this, 15-member UN body on Wednesday held a closed-door informal meeting under 'Any Or Business' category, which means literally anything can be brought up by any of members.

record is maintained and re is press statement issued for closed-door informal meetings and neir is any formal outcome or resolution taken by UNSC. Typically, country objects to a discussion under 'Any or Business' category.  India has categorically told international community that scrapping of Article 370 of Constitution was its internal matter.
