Bengaluru: CRPF holds two-day weapons display, dog show, health camp

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Sunday conducted a weapon exhibition, a dog show, set a medical camp among a variety of other exhibitions at Bengaluru's Lal Bagh. The two-day event was inaugurated by the CRPF Inspector General of Police GVH Giri Prasad. The exhibition is held as part of India's first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's 144th birth anniversary celebration. He was born on October 31, 1875.
Health camp by CRPF
The CRPF held a health camp for the people visiting the venue. The check-up was free-of-cost and open to all. The camp will continue on Monday.
Dog show planned for Monday
The event will be open for the general public who will witness how CRPF jawans train and command dogs in the cadre. The dog show is scheduled to be held on Monday at 11 am and 3 pm. The dogs are specially trained in CRPF camps to detect narcotics and explosive substances in order to guard airports, government buildings, and other key institutions. These dogs will now showcase their special skills in the show in front of dozens of spectators.
The CRPF also exhibited some of its combat weapons in its arsenal to the public. The weapons also had signboards on display that detailed its origins, use, and capabilities.
