With many parts of Bihar, including Patna, immersed in waist-deep water after heavy downpours that threw normal life out of gear in several parts, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed his distress and conducted an aerial survey of the flood-affected areas. Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government on Sunday had also requested the Indian Air Force (IAF) for two helicopters for lifting and airdropping food packets and medicines, in the flood-affected areas of the region.
As per reports, the CM had earlier blamed the meteorological department and said that it misled the state government as it had predicted there would be no rain after September 26 and heavy rains started on Friday itself.
