Bihar Floods: Union Minister RS Prasad visits flood-hit areas in Patna

Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, on Sunday, visited flood-affected Taranpur village and enquired about the status of relief work by the NDRF and SDRF teams

After Bihar was hit with disastrous floods, Union Minister of Law & Justice and Electronics & Information Techlogy Ravi Shankar Prasad on Sunday visited flood-affected areas of Taranpur vill in Patna district to monitor ongoing flood-relief and rescue operations. Prasad who is a sitting MP from Patna Sahib constituency also interacted with district administrations and also asked about status of relief work by NDRF and SDRF teams.

RS Prasad cancels Dussehra events to visit flood-hit areas

In a tweet on Sunday, Union Minister RS Prasad said that he met flood-affected people of Taranpur vill and also reviewed work being done by administration. He enquired about electricity, drinking water facility and food being provided to affected villrs and also spoke to m to kw difficulties y were facing due to flood water to ensure that y are resolved. Earlier on Saturday, Prasad had anunced that he will t attend any of Dussehra events as he would visit flood-hit areas in Bihar and spend some time with people affected. On October 2, he visited flood-hit Rajendra Nagar area in Bihar.

Bihar Floods

So far Bihar floods have claimed over 70 lives and triggered acute waterlogging in state. State authorities and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have so far evacuated over 10,000 citizens from flood-affected areas in Patna. According to reports, 19 NDRF teams have been sent out for evacuation. Out of 19 teams, five NDRF teams have been sent to Patna's flood-affected areas. rescue teams have been working round-clock-to evacuate people to safer places.
