Independent MLA Anant Singh went missing after Police reached to arrest him in his Patna residence after recovering an AK-47 rifle, 22 live cartridges, and two bombs from his Mokama house on Friday.

Independent MLA Anant Singh went missing after Police reached to arrest him in his Patna residence after recovering an AK-47 rifle, 22 live cartridges, and two bombs from his Mokama house on Friday.
Following findings, Singh was booked under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) after seizure of an AK-47 rifle and grene from his ancestral house, police said on Saturday.

Confirming this, Patna (Rural) Superintendent of Police Kantesh Kumar Mishra said that it could t be ruled out that sophisticated weapon may have been used in "some big incidents".

"He (Anand Singh) has been booked under UAPA for recovery of a sophisticated weapon AK-47 and grene during a raid in his ancestral house on Friday," said Mishra.

Police h raided house of Singh, a multiple-term MLA from Mokama at Lma vill in Barh sub-division following a tip-off and seized an AK-47 rifle, a magazine, live cartridges, and two hand grenes.

Parliament has recently passed an amendment to UAPA to give powers to Centre to designate an individual as a terrorist and seize his properties.
Barh sub-divisional police officer Lipi Singh said, "We are moving ahe as per law and senior's instructions. We are completing paperwork and will submit before court all evidence along with an FIR to pray for issuance of warrant against him (MLA)."

Singh, nicknamed 'Chhote Sarkaar', has a long criminal record and was recently summoned to police hequarters in Patna for giving his voice sample in connection with a bid on life of a Mokama-based contractor.
MLA h reacted angrily to raid at his ancestral house and alleged that a conspiracy has been hatched against him at behest of JD(U) MP Lalan Singh. "Weapons t belonging to me are being shown as having been recovered from my house. house has also been bly vandalised during raid," he said.

police have debunked allegations levelled by MLA and said raid was carried out in presence of a magistrate in accordance with law, as well as caretaker of house. Moreover, videography has been done of entire exercise.
Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh is JD(U) MP from Munger, Lok Sabha constituency under which Mokama Assembly segment falls. He h defeated Singh's wife Neelam Devi who contested on a Congress ticket by a huge margin.
Singh was formerly kwn to be close to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar but fell out with him ahe of 2015 assembly elections. It led to his exit from JD(U) and retaining Mokama seat as an independent.
