Ahead of Chhath Puja, Bihar authorities have found a unique way to stop police officials from taking leaves in a casual manner. For Chhath, re are more holiday seekers and it becomes difficult for officers to decide whom to leave and whom to t leave. As per reports, in such a situation, priority is given to those who are fasting mselves. Police officers of Samastipur were also facing similar problems. authorities have found a solution that has become a matter of dispute.
cops in Samastipur have been asked to sign an oath letter stating that if y lie for taking leave from work, ir family and children will fall into pit of trouble immediately. letter states that any officer who is t doing Chhath Vrat (Fast) and is asking for leave have to withdraw leave application. police officers had already written in ir earlier leave application that y perform Chhath Vrat. Even after this, y had to fill oath letter. policemen have also been asked to write number of years y have been performing Chhath Puja.

Chhath Puja is one of major festivals in India which is particularly celebrated in most parts of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and also in some parts of Nepal. festival starts in month of Kartika on its sixth day. festival lasts for four days and is dedicated to worshipping Sun (Surya Dev) for seeking his blessing and praying for keeping family healthy and wealthy. This puja is dedicated to Sun and his consort Usha and Pratusha (Chhathi Maiya) in order to thank m for bestowing bounties of life on earth and to request granting of certain wishes. kind of prayer does t involve any idol worship.
